You "thank your lucky stars"?! That's false worship!! đŸ˜‰
At that birthday party were any of the students beheaded by the teacher?
alright.... so in another thread, most of us have been counseled for some lame stuff, and the responses range from funny to shocking.. now, let's focus on you giving counsel to others.

To not partake of even the leftovers of birthday cake. To go along with an unjust disfellowshipping because it was from Jehovah. Etc. So embarrassing.
nothing big here, just a couple small observations:.
on this month's program at about the 43 minute mark, after bragging about giving a little medical help to jws in africa, they make them 'pay' for their services by offering onscreen testimonials thanking the organization.
one of them is an elderly man who i think got hearing aids or something (i forget) and said that now he can hear the meetings better.

Amen to that, NikL. All of their other sins stem from this: placing themselves in the position of God and Christ.
Jesus said he was the truth, they say JWs are The Truthâ„¢.
Peter said of Jesus 'Whom shall we go away to', they say of The Organizationâ„¢ 'Where' shall we go away to.
From there on out almost any abuse can be justified.

Anyway the point is he's all dressed up in meeting clothes, but also has a goatee, something I'd never seen in a JW approved publication before.
Cut to another segment shortly thereafter, and we see the experience of a man who returned to the JWs and was making changes in his life. He says, 'My beard became a goatee, and then the goatee gradually became a mustache', indicating this is the maximum allowed facial hair.
what is the rarest jb book ever printed?
i just bought a copy of the finished mystery and it can be a bit rare.
but i bet there are others much more rare.
The governing body handbook, only printed in bound individually by other GB members, and burned on a members death. đŸ˜œ

Thank you darkspilver. I remember that thread and have been expecting the video to come but never saw it. Because the thread is named after the letter, I wouldn't expect to find the video there, and it would be too difficult to locate that thread again, and I suspect others probably missed it too so when I found it on reddit I shared it. Hope I haven't missed anything else in this manner, these things need their own thread.

when i studied as a young adult, it was in one of those congregations.
having viewed the religion as a quaint little band of christians it conpletely dumbfounded me when i was told about such rules as 1 - no beards.
2 - you must wear a suit to meetings and while giving a talk.
In my hall they also ban beards and require jackets. I was given council twice, once about a soul patch (to which i replied 'show me the scripture and I'll see what I can do'), and once about the need for a two piece suit when on stage (to which I replied 'I don't have one'). Neither was pursued and I didn't lose 'privileges'. The beard was another story though, absolutely not.
